हरियाणा न्यूज चंडीगढ़ : अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी की महासचिव, पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री एवं सिरसा से लोकसभा सांसद कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि देश में किसानों के पास कृषि योग्य जमीन लगातार घट रही है, जबकि कर्जे की रकम लगातार बढ़ रही है। बढ़ते कर्ज के कारण हर घंटे देश में औसतन एक से अधिक किसान आत्महत्या के लिए मजबूर हो रहे हैं और फिर भी केंद्र की भाजपा सरकार इनकी सुध लेने के लिए कोई कदम उठाने को तैयार नहीं हैं। अन्नदाता किसान की अनदेखी की कीमत भाजपा को विधानसभा चुनाव में चुकानी होगी।
मीडिया को जारी बयान में कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि यह खुलासा राज्यसभा व लोकसभा में समय-समय पर पेश रिपोर्ट और एनएसओ व एनसीआरबी के आंकड़ों से होता है। इससे पता चलता है कि देश की करीब 52 फीसदी आबादी रोजगार के लिए कृषि पर निर्भर है और जीडीपी में कृषि की हिस्सेदारी 18 प्रतिशत है। लेकिन, दूसरे सेक्टर्स के मुकाबले देश में खेती से जुड़े लोगों की स्थिति लगातार खराब ही हो रही है। पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा कि देश का प्रत्येक किसान परिवार आज 74121 रुपये के कर्ज तले दबा है, जबकि एक किसान परिवार की औसत मासिक आय सिर्फ 10218 रुपये ही है। किसानों की घरेलू स्वामित्व जोत का औसत आकार भी घटता जा रहा है। देश में 9.31 करोड़ किसान परिवारों में से 6.56 करोड़, यानी 70 प्रतिशत से अधिक के पास 1 हेक्टेयर से भी कम जमीन है। देश में सिर्फ 0.4 प्रतिशत किसान परिवारों के पास ही 10 हेक्टेयर से अधिक भूमि है।
कुमारी सैलजा ने कहा कि किसानों की बदतर हालत को इसी बात से समझा जा सकता है कि प्रत्येक किसान परिवार के पास औसतन 0.876 हेक्टेयर जमीन है। लगातार कर्ज में डूबने के कारण साल 2012 से 2022 के बीच 114695 किसान खुदकुशी कर चुके हैं। यानी, हर दिन में 31 जान जा रही हैं। किसान बैंकों, सरकार, सहकारी समितियों व सूदखोरों के कर्जदार हैं और इस कर्ज को समय पर चुका भी नहीं पा रहे हैं। पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा कि हरियाणा के किसान कर्ज के मामले में देश में चौथे नंबर पर आते हैं। यानी, खराब स्थिति के मामले में टॉप 4 में हैं। यहां 19.06 लाख किसान परिवार हैं, जिनमें से 9.06 लाख परिवार कर्ज में डूबे हुए हैं, जो कुल कृषक परिवारों का 47.5 प्रतिशत हैं। इन पर औसत कर्जा 1.82 लाख रुपये है। इतना सब होने के बावजूद प्रदेश की भाजपा सरकार ने एक बार भी केंद्र की भाजपा सरकार के सामने यहां की हकीकत बताती रिपोर्ट नहीं रखी है। इससे पता चलता है कि डबल इंजन की सरकार पूरी तरह किसान विरोधी है।

The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister, and Lok Sabha MP from Sirsa, Kumari Selja said that the arable land available to farmers in the country is continuously decreasing, while the amount of debt is continuously increasing. Due to increasing debt, more than one farmer on average is forced to commit suicide every hour in the country, yet the central BJP government is not ready to take any steps to address their plight.
In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that this revelation comes from reports presented from time to time in the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha and data from the NSO and NCRB. This shows that about 52 percent of the country's population depends on agriculture for employment, and agriculture contributes 18 percent to the GDP. However, compared to other sectors, the situation of people involved in farming is continuously deteriorating in the country.
The former Union Minister said that every farming family in the country is buried under an average debt of 74,121 rupees, while the average monthly income of a farming family is only 10,218 rupees. The average size of household-owned holdings of farmers is also decreasing. Out of 93.1 million farming families in the country, more than 70 percent, i.e., 65.6 million, have less than 1 hectare of land. Only 0.4 percent of farming families in the country have more than 10 hectares of land.
Kumari Selja said that the poor condition of farmers can be understood from the fact that each farming family has an average of 0.876 hectares of land. Due to continuous debt, between 2012 and 2022, 114,695 farmers have committed suicide. This means that 31 lives are lost every day. Farmers are indebted to banks, the government, cooperative societies, and moneylenders and are unable to repay this debt on time. Kumari Selja said that Haryana's farmers rank fourth in the country in terms of debt. That means, in terms of poor conditions, they are in the top 4. There are 1.906 million farming families here, of which 0.906 million families are in debt, which is 47.5 percent of the total farming families. The average debt on these families is 182,000 rupees. Despite all this, the BJP government of the state has not once presented a report showing the reality here to the central BJP government. This shows that the double-engine government is completely anti-farmer.
